The Southwark Climate Collective builds off the success of the Mayor of London’s Business Climate Challenge
In 2019 the Business Climate Challenge was launched to 19 Bankside SMEs, supporting businesses to reduce energy consumption and decarbonise their business.
Key results from the Business Climate Challenge:
- Pilot businesses reduced energy consumption by 16% on average, saving over £8,000 on energy bills and collectively saving 213tCO2e carbon emissions.
- Most energy savings were achieved through low or no-cost interventions to businesses
- In 2022, the programme was scaled up with over 200 SMEs across London taking action to improve energy efficiency.
